Shawnthor’s SFSU grad photo session was such a blast! We had to reschedule so many times due to country restrictions which forced us to change up our plans a little (worked out for the better!). Originally we were going to shoot at the San Francisco State University campus, and then they put a halt to non-essential activities on campus, which made sense. So, we decided The Palace of The Fine Art’s in SF would be a great option.
Then there was a storm in SF, so we just decided “let’s just shoot in San Jose”.
Shawnthor is going to continue his education by starting his journey at Palmer Chiropractic Clinics, so he suggested we take our first photos there. While the campus there is not the *cutest* I thought it would be lovely, as places with sentimental value make the photoshoot and grad photos more special.
Afterward, we headed to the nearby River Oaks Park which was just a few blocks away.
Shawnthor was fully prepared with tons of props, such as his grad cap, dumbells (the perfect prop for a physical fitness/bio major am I right?), and his Physiology textbook. Props make grad photoshoots SO much more fun, and he got the killer shot of him lifting weights while studying.

Here’s what Shawnthor had to say about our session:
“I was in search for a photographer for my SFSU graduation photos and my cousin has told me to check out Carla.
Carla is a natural when it comes to photography. She listens to what the client wants, as well as suggestions and tips when you are stuck on what to do. She is also very responsive, on time, and very easy to work with.
Trust me, after a few shots, you can comfortably take some photos! This is coming from someone who never done a photoshoot before.
I’d like to to also point out how amazing she is with edits. Don’t be worried when she sends you the pictures as those are unedited, once she sends the final touches, I can promise you, you will love each and every picture you have taken.
Carla is overall a great photographer, as well as a great person.
I’d recommend her for anyone who just simply beautiful pictures of themselves or with their loved ones.”
